Void Support is the use of a geosynthetic as a tensioned membrane to span voids and prevent or minimize the effect of subgrade subsidence.

Revetments are used in coastal and marine environments to protect the toes of coastal cliffs, bluffs and dunes, and to protect exposed land areas.

Retaining Walls are Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) walls with face inclinations steeper than 70° and are used to support a soil mass so that the constructed ground surfaces can be at different elevations on either side of the wall face.
