Mirafi® University - Engineers 2018 Recap
Engineering is a fascinating industry full of constantly evolving research and practices. One way we further our team members’ engineering education here at TenCate is by hosting an annual program -Mirafi® University.
Mirafi® University - Engineers is a two-and-a-half day program where we invite engineers throughout the Americas to enjoy numerous lectures presented by our employees. These presentations give further insight into our products, applications, and operations. We are thrilled to report that we successfully hosted a total of 43 engineers and 20 of our employees at this year’s event - our 8th Mirafi® University.
Here’s an inside look at the program:
Inspired by a Monday Night Football theme, we kicked off the event with icebreakers and activities. After a brief introduction, followed by dinner, the attendees mingled around cornhole tournaments, a spirit competition, and much more. This was an engaging and relaxing way to allow participants and TenCate employees get to know each other better before beginning our educational sessions the next day.
Tuesday began with course training, followed by an exclusive tour at our Cornelia plant, where attendees were guided by experienced employees on the manufacturing process of our woven materials. The tour continued to the Pendergrass plant, where participants were also able to explore our nonwoven production. The group enjoyed the opportunity to take a peek behind-the-scenes of our processes and understand the work that goes into developing and creating our many innovative products.
We brought our event to a close on Wednesday and wrapped up with a final lesson. Upon completion, we had one last hurrah before adjourning the program. We gathered our participants and hosted a competitive game of Jeopardy, with topics from the lessons that were covered during the course. This was a highly enjoyable and informational event for everyone involved.
By gaining more knowledge about TenCate’s offerings, our guests can apply themselves more effectively to projects while building relationships with others who work in the engineering field. Our team was proud to have hosted this event and is excited to do it all over again next year!
