North Carolina DOT Approves Use of Mirafi® H2Ri

Recently, the North Carolina Department of Transportation added Mirafi® H2Ri (Geotextiles - Type 5) to their department’s Approved Product List. We are excited that the NCDOT made this decision to use one of our products and we believe this will help them greatly improve the stability and longevity of their roads in North Carolina! About the Mirafi®H2Ri

This woven geotextile is a wicking capable product, designed to provide reinforcement for railways, roads, and airports. It works by fortifying the soil, providing drainage and filtration, and contributing wicking capability. Mirafi® H2Ri  is highly durable, easy to install, and comes in several different roll sizes, so it can accommodate a wide variety of settings and projects. Our team at TenCate Geosynthetics believes this product will make a significant impact in North Carolina. There is some unique geology and soil in the Triassic basins of NC, primarily outside the Raleigh area. These are expansive soils that both shrink and swell, causing differential movement, so the Mirafi® H2Ri  could help reduce the differential movement. Now that our product is approved in NC, it should be able to be implemented and start making a difference at once.
