TenCate Geosynthetics Stress Relief Wall at the U.S. Bank Stadium

Football season has come to an end once again, much to the disappointment of the sport’s most dedicated fans. Watching The Big Game every year is a special day for many people, as it means that friends and family come together to enjoy the event over food and fellowship. For our team at TenCate Geosynthetics, however, this past football event was special for a different reason.

The Big Game 2018 took place at theU.S. Bank Stadium, where TenCate Geosynthetics had the honor of installing a stress relief wall. With the help of this reinforcement, the stadium was able to withstand the thousands of visitors attending the famous event. Thanks to our innovative installation, TenCate was able to save the project millions of dollars. Take a look at some of photos from the installation at the bottom of the page!

The wall’s unique design consisted of a geogrid and geotextile wrap placed inside the formwork to serve as both primary and secondary reinforcement. With the aid of the TenCate Mirafi® Wirewall System (800 feet long and 40 feet tall) supporting the facing material during construction, the wall was installed quickly; labor was considerably reduced. It also helped save time and materials during construction, making the project more cost effective.

By implementing a CMU basement wall alongside the TenCate Mirafi® Wirewall System, our team was able to save $5.5M, confirmed by the contractor.
