PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
This is a skilled electrician position at the journeyman level. This position requires skills in trouble shooting and maintaining industrial automation and controls.
GUIDE TO THE POSITION – DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES:
List and describe the “essential duties” of the position.
1. Follow all safety regulations and basic rules and regulations per company policy.
2. Builds, installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical control systems associated with new and existing industrial machinery.
3. Interact with use of the CMMS (ER Portal) to open, perform and complete work orders issued by the Groupleader or Planner Scheduler.
4. Assists fellow maintenance electricians, maintenance technicians, and contract integrator/engineers in the installation, trouble shooting and repair of equipment.
5. Installs, programs, trouble shoots, and maintains AC and DC drives.
6. Installs, trouble shoots, and maintains AC and DC motors.
7. Trouble shoots Programmable Logic Controls via maintenance software with laptop computer.
8. Must be familiar with and understand the proper use of the test instruments used in this position: a.) Fluke multi-meter b.) Fluke amp-meter c.) Fluke oscilloscope d.) Fluke mega ohm-meter e.) Fluke “J” and “K” type thermometers f.) Fluke infra-red heat gun
9. Ability to read and draw schematic diagrams associated with ladder logic.
10. Willing to comply with an on call rotation.
11. Willing to be on-call for emergency repairs and to provide assistance on PM days.
12. Able to lead a group of people to accomplish a specific task.
13. Understand OSHA standards as they apply to electrical safety and the industry.
14. Understand the NEC (National Electric Code) and how it applies to an industrial environment.
15. Must understand and comply with Company Safety Policies and actively participate in enforcement of these policies.
16. Must complete forklift training and maintain a forklift license.
17. Must meet lifting requirements as stated in Part IV section C of this guide.
18. Must be able to work for extended hours (16hrs) when necessary.
19. Responds to calls from the production departments and communicates with group leader / supervisor as to what the call is for.
20. Clean up after work performed and general housekeeping of the shop area.
21. Complete any other task assigned by electrical group leader.

SPECIFICATIONS OF THE POSITION.
A. Minimum education required: High school or GED, Completion of Basic Electronic-College or Technical. Industrial Electronics Maintenance Technology-Technical degree or equivalent.
B. Minimum experience required:
- Four years experience in the electrical trade, including completion of an apprenticeship.
- Considerable knowledge of the practice, methods, tools, equipment, and materials of the electrical trade.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes. Skilled in the use and care of tools and equipment used in the electrical trade.
- Skilled in locating and adjusting defects in electrical systems and equipment.
- The ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and to read and interpret sketches, diagrams, and blueprints.
